Leaders,

On what does a strong sense of self-worth depends? Money? Good looks? High intelligence? Nice clothes? An important job or title? An expensive car?

What if I were to tell you, that YOU can be confident without any of those things? Do not believe me? Well, in fact, it is true. A true sense of self worth depends on how YOU feel about yourself on the inside. You can never truly say a person looks good, if they do not feel good about themselves on the inside. You can have on a half million dollar timepiece and still feel like a loser. It is not the material things that bring confidence, it comes from understanding your value as a person. You do not need permission from anybody to be confident. Confidence comes from the inside, no one can give it to you, just as I can not make you rich, more handsome, or feel more beautiful. It is all up to YOU!

It does not matter where you are today, all that you need is within you now. Confidence is entirely a matter of mind. It maybe a fact that you are not tall, or able to wear designer clothes or drive a sports car, but you can still be confident. It is your attitude that counts. And this is not theory.

When I first met my wife Deborah, over 20 years ago I was only making $6.15 an hour and I did not have a college degree. She had a Master's degree and a high six figure paying career. She never knew how much I made, my attitude was that of a multi-millionaire. When she found out that I did not have a college education she was in shock, but she could not resist this stud. It was my confidence in myself that won her over, I knew I was going to be wealthy in a matter of time. I had the confidence in myself and all I had to do was put the necessary work in to reach my goals. The most important thing that made our relationship work, was I was not intimidated by her success.

I am going to share with you the strategies I used for building confidence in myself. The only requirement is that you apply the strategies. No strategy will work in your life, business, or finances unless your thinking is right.

Visualization: See yourself as the person YOU desire to be. Do not try to live up to anyone standards but your own. Do not borrow someone else's plan for your life. Build your own. Nobody knows your gifts better than YOU. Create that vision and then put the work in to accomplish your mission. If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hands. It took me from $6.15 an hour to millions.

Affirmations: Develop the habit of speaking positive words to yourself. Your voice is the sweetest and most powerful sound to your ears. Use affirmations to build yourself up. Remember you can not expect someone else to treat you with respect, if you are not willing to do so yourself.

Record Yourself: Set aside at least 15 minutes and record yourself either on camera or on a audio recorder. Have a good friend critique you. Also leave a message on your phone and see how you sound when you leave messages on someone else's voicemail. This is to help you become more confident with your own voice.

Do Not Compare Yourself to Others: Be Authentic. No one respects a "Me Too". Be who God created YOU to be. Find your true self and love it. Your destiny is inside of you. There is a power within you which if awakened will lead you to accomplish greatness.

Take Action: There is no power in talking positive and thinking positive without positive action. What gives a vision power is not how the lips move but how the feet move to bring it into reality. Next time you have an opportunity give a presentation in front of your team. The strength of the leader is the team. The strength of the team is the leader. And how strong can a team be if its leader lacks confidence.

Challenge: Do something this week that will push you outside of your comfort zone.
